“I love coming up with a concept and partnering with a team of other creatives – photographer, hair and makeup – to make it happen!”
What person or experience initially got you interested in pursuing your art?
Wow -my initial inspiration for becoming a stylist probably came from my childhood. I was taught by my mom and grandmother how to sew. I would pick out a fabric and a pattern and sew an outfit for a certain event. I always liked putting together an entire look.
How do you find inspiration to stay creatively fresh from project to project?
I have to do creative collaboration projects in between the paid projects to keep my passion. I love coming up with a concept and partnering with a team of other creatives – photographer, hair and makeup – to make it happen!
Is there any new gear or technology that you have your eye on this year?
Being a stylist, I need to keep my emergency kit in check.
If you could share one piece of advice with up and coming stylists or creative directors, what would it be?
Go with your gut – ALWAYS! Look at trends to see what your client might be wanting to achieve but ALWAYS push the envelope for your creative projects and collaborations so that you can be a trend setter!
What is one area of your work or field you would love to grow in this year?
Styling for commercial photographers and musician styling for album covers/promo shoots.
